Starting the Connection with the Goddess

, 03:19

A question that I had when I was beginning to establish a stronger connection with the Goddess Hekate, was "how can I do it?" I was invoking the Goddess inside the circle, I knew the necessary mythology about Her, a big part of it I had read in Witchcraft books. When I felt the calling from Her, I saw this matter of connection more seriously. Well, I couldn't avoid it. The Goddess was communicating with me, there was no way not to see the signs. I liked that She wanted to work with me. I tried to do some things and I also asked for guidance of my friend Katerina, who was also a devotee. One of the things I did, was to read, to study, to search about Her. And from that starting point, I made a secure ground for building a safe and strong relationship.

Ancient Unknown Hymn to Hekate Chthonia

, 21:16

In the following article an ancient hymn to Hekate will be presented saved by the christian philosopher and theologist, Ippolytos. The hymn is unknown to the community of the Goddess Hekate and as this blog has the goal to present rare material and information from the ancient texts, about our Goddess, this article is another great contribution to our goal. The hymn can be used to invoke the Goddess during Deipnon (=Supper) or the darker aspects during waning of the moon.

Creating A Katadesmos From PGM VII

, 22:46

I have already written an article about this subject but I want to expand and share another spell from PGM VII 429-458 In that spell Osiris is called with voces magicae implying their secret names. The interesting thing is that the spell is short and quick but it also requires knot magick if you release the katadesmos in special places, using again the famous voces magicaes ASKEI KAI TASKEI (as the ancient text writes).

Invocation to Hekate as Creator of the World from PGM IV

, 01:59

In PGM IV 1716 lies a very effective binding spell called the Sword of Dardanos, the man who founded the mysteries in Samothrace. The island is associated with the Goddess Hekate. It starts with an invocation to the God who created the universe. I have translated and it can be used as a strong invocation to Hekate Soteira or Hekate Panopaia or Hekate Pasikrateia and calling the aspects of Axis Mundi and Queen of the World.

Due to the nature of the ancient invocations, the Witch should have a deep connection with the Goddess, to make the invocation with all of his emotions and vibrating the vowels and pronouncing correctly the voces magicae with all of the energy.

For a complete structure of an invocation ritual see this and this. If you follow a magickal tradition, you already know what to do.

Creating A Katadesmos

, 22:40

Katadesmoi in plural, katadesmos in singular are an ancient hellenic magickal technique. It requires a lead tablet and a nail. The desired purpose is simply written in the lead and then it is fold in half and with a nail on the center it is bound. The instructions of how to make a lead tablet efficently for magickal uses could be found in ancient papyri and ancient tablets.

There are some basic structures of creating a binding, but in this article I am just going to provide the instructions from the PGM V 304 - 369 This papyros is stored in the Museum of London, not in Hellas. For the following katadesmos a papyros is needed, plaster, calamus pen, myrrh and threads/cords. It can also be done with lead. If you have the PGM in translation edited by Hans Dieter Betz open at page 106

Invocation to Hekate from the PGM XII

, 01:59

It is widely known that the Hymn to Selene from the PGM is referring to the Goddess Hekate. The invocation I am going to write derives from the PGM XII 238-245. It is an invocation to the almighty God, but I have modified it slightly to invoke the Goddess Hekate. The invocation is very beautiful, truely poetic. I have added the invocation to a well structured ritual, for anyone who wants to follow it or modify it according to its magickal tradition.

Crystals and Minerals Close to Hekate

, 16:35

This is a project I did for the CoH Santuario de Hekate Thethys Krataiis.

The following list contains a small text with the properties of every crystal that I believe its energy is related to our Mother Hekate. In the end, I have written my suggestion for selecting the appropriate crystals for rituals. I have tried to write down a small description so anyone can choose the best related crystal according to his/her needs and intuition. In the Greem Magickal Papyri the lodestone is associated with Hekate by engraving three of Her forms.
