The Illusive Goddess

, 14:29

The following article is going to make some people mad, cause them mania to the point that they may even want to hit their screen. It is not suitable for people who base their practices and ideas regardings the cult of Hekate, on illusive personal gnosis, feelings, channelings, New Age ideas etc. Hopefully, the readers of this blog base their practices on well documented historical and archaeological facts. Those readers, our readers, may continue reading. They others are kindly requested to exit that page, as it will get them upset.

Really, not few times I read online, in fora, groups, blogs, websites information about the Goddess Hekate, which are not true. In fact, they do not come from any book, research, ancient depiction or any other kind of real source. Most of the times, the writers of those texts have a group of supporters, who they have read the blog, the book or they have taken a step forward on exercising with those new information on their daily devotional work. Even new non traditional "traditions” have been born out of this kind of new information. Most of the times, when I write an ancient source proving that things are not like that, or when I ask for sources, they block me or tell me things like evolution. Evolution on what? I prefer being old fashioned. katakouzinos_meme.jpg

Starting the Connection with the Goddess

, 03:19

A question that I had when I was beginning to establish a stronger connection with the Goddess Hekate, was "how can I do it?" I was invoking the Goddess inside the circle, I knew the necessary mythology about Her, a big part of it I had read in Witchcraft books. When I felt the calling from Her, I saw this matter of connection more seriously. Well, I couldn't avoid it. The Goddess was communicating with me, there was no way not to see the signs. I liked that She wanted to work with me. I tried to do some things and I also asked for guidance of my friend Katerina, who was also a devotee. One of the things I did, was to read, to study, to search about Her. And from that starting point, I made a secure ground for building a safe and strong relationship.

Poem: The Goddess

, 12:08

A daughter in the woods created a sacred circle,
she burnt a mix of herbs and she was holding an amount of myrtle.
She called the elementals at the corners until the dawn was coming,
she made the evocation and for the Goddess she was chanting.
The atmosphere had changed and a presence filled the air,
a morph started to emerge; it was a woman with a beauty extremely rare.

She was wearing a long dress which was like the starry night,
a diaphanous veil was covering her shoulders falling at each side.
She had high on her waist one a knife on her belt,
a small key with a silver chain was hung around her neck.
She was holding one torch and the flame was warm and bright,
she is the Goddess of the truth, the wisdom and the light.

“I am the triple energy of the four worlds,
she who on her hands the time holds.
I am the one, the life-giving soul,
I hold the torch of truth leading to the sacred road.
I am she whose heart is the fire of the sun,
and what is done I can make it undone.
I am more ancient than the world, more ancient than time,
when the darkness comes it is then when you will see me shine.
I am she who hears the silence and she who is standing still,
to those who honor my name I’ll be present in the times of need”.

Viewing the Gods with Porphyry

, 00:32

Neoplatonic philosopher Porphyry was married old with Marcella who has seven children. He had to leave the city for a while. He wrote to her a letter to read it when she will miss him. Invocation to Hekate as Creator of the World from PGM IV

, 01:59

In PGM IV 1716 lies a very effective binding spell called the Sword of Dardanos, the man who founded the mysteries in Samothrace. The island is associated with the Goddess Hekate. It starts with an invocation to the God who created the universe. I have translated and it can be used as a strong invocation to Hekate Soteira or Hekate Panopaia or Hekate Pasikrateia and calling the aspects of Axis Mundi and Queen of the World.

Due to the nature of the ancient invocations, the Witch should have a deep connection with the Goddess, to make the invocation with all of his emotions and vibrating the vowels and pronouncing correctly the voces magicae with all of the energy.

For a complete structure of an invocation ritual see this and this. If you follow a magickal tradition, you already know what to do.
